Welcome to my site!
Benjamin Franklin once said that "It is the first responsibility of every citizen to question authority."
Branching off those immortal words, I believe it is not only every citizen's job to question authority, but actively participate in the election of those we deem responsible for the authority we grant them. This class this semester is geared to help us understand how the media reports on the elections in this country. It is important and necessary to understand how our electorate receive this most important information and how we choose to act on that information.
In my blog I will be reviewing the Houston Chronicle, and that paper's reporting on the upcoming Presidential Election. My ultimate goal is to further understand how this paper's readership receive their information, and the effectiveness in which the paper completes their goal of enabling their citizenry to question authority.
Enjoy!
